We bring more than two decades of experience working across urban, suburban, and rural settings. About Us
The Collaboratory, LLC was founded by Janet Hammer, PhD — a leader and team player who helps organizations and communities envision and create better futures. Janet’s approach is informed by a unique multi-disciplinary and cross-sector background: Her commitment to serving people and planet led to studies in planning, policy, community development, transformational learning, and multi-stakeholder collaboration — earning degrees from UC Davis, the University of Pennsylvania, and Portland State University — and a career spanning public, private, non-profit, academic, and philanthropic sectors.
Drawing on this unique background, Janet navigates diverse perspectives and imperatives to help groups understand context, hone strategy, and amplify impact. In addition to supporting on-the-ground initiatives, she has contributed to broader field-building that has helped shape both theory and practice.
